Exclusive: Shazam’s Most-Tagged Music from Winter Music Conference

Hot on the heels of South by Southwest comes the Ibiza-loving, fist-pumping, superstar-DJed Winter Music Conference in Miami, with its mega-dance parties and electronic/hip hop trade show. In a way, it’s sort of like SXSW for EDM.

Evolver.fm has obtained an exclusive list from Shazam of the EDM artists that were tagged the most at Winter Music Conference. These are important rankings, in part because Shazam has at times generated as much as 10 percent of global music sales, and has hooks in to the subscription services as well.

It’s also important because these are the artists that Shazam users most wanted to learn more about — and, to a smaller extent, if Shazam’s analysis of its users is correct, the songs they want to share that they are listening to. So if you want to crowdsource a bit of EDM music discovery by cuing up what people at Miami’s EDM-infused answer to SXSW are responding to the most as a crowd, here’s what you might listen to:

1. John Legend: All Of Me (Tiesto’s Birthday Treatment Remix)

2. Faul & Wad Ad & Pnau: Changes

3. Gareth Emery: U

4. Dillon Francis & DJ Snake: Get Low

5. R3HAB & DEORRO – Flashlight

6. Seven Lions & Myon & Shane 54 & Tove Lo: Strangers

7. Eric Prydz: Liberate

8. Galantis: You

9. Duke Dumont Feat. Jax Jones: I Got U

10. Stadiumx Feat. Taylr Renee: Howl At The Moon

You can listen to almost all of them here (Shazam announced at WMC that it can identify vinyl):

Very interesting. Curious how many times Shazam couldn’t recognize a track that wasn’t in their database as a result of being mixed and remixed live at WMC.
