Finally, You Can Make Beats with Beets

Welp, someone has gone and done it, and his name is Scott Garner.

In what appears in retrospect to have been an inevitable development, Garner hacked together six beets, a Raspberry Pi, and a wooden box to create… wait for it… BeetBox.

When you touch the beets, your body’s natural capacitance causes a variation in the electricity detected by a capacitive touch sensor and an audio amplifier hidden inside the wooden box. All of the code is open-source, so if you have the time and the skill, it’s not too late to churn these out for friends and relatives before the end of the year.
